Obituary of DOUG MOONEY

DOUG MOONEY With great sadness and heavy hearts, we announce the sudden passing of our dear husband, father and papa at the Grace Hospital on May 24, 2014 at the age of 76. Doug is forever remembered by his wife Lorraine of 53 years; and children (grandchildren), Brent (Jessica, Aynsley), Charlene and Brian (Melissa), Lisa and Ken (Melanie and Brendin); sister Sharon of Winnipeg ; and brothers, Reg (Karen) and Bill of BC. He worked at the Winnipeg Land Titles Office for 43 years and regardless of his position, he always went above and beyond and would do anything you needed. Doug enjoyed curling, umpiring and refereeing, but his two loves were singing and working at T & T Seeds. His love of helping people and working with his extended family made his days very entertaining. Dad touched many lives with his outgoing personality and sometimes stubborn Irish ways. What can we say – he was “One of a Kind”. A Celebration of Doug’s Life will be held at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street on Saturday, May 31, 2014 at 4:00 p.m. A private family interment will be held at a later date. The family would like to say thank you from the bottom of our hearts to Brian and Kevin Twomey and Don Campbell for always looking after him throughout the years. We would also like to thank the staff at the ICU Grace Hospital for their care and support. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Doug’s memory to Parkinson Society Manitoba or CancerCare Manitoba. Forever in our hearts. We love you SWEET DOUGIE.
