Obituary of DAVE WRIGHT
DAVE WRIGHT
May 19, 1960 - May 23, 2014
It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Dave Wright, age 54, of St. Andrews, Mb.
Dave will be lovingly remembered by his wife Jeanette, son Joey (Sarah), daughters Kristen (Garth), Carly (Chris), grandchildren Bryce and Ainsley, mothers-in-law Violet Herda and Anna Forte, father-in-law Nick Forte, sisters-in-law Gina (Hugh), Christine (Dana), Carina (Santo), brother-in-law Arnie as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. Dave will be sorely missed by his loving pets Dieter and Annie. Dave was predeceased by his mother Sonia Weselake and step-dad Jim Mah.
Dave started his own landscaping company in 1999 which he continued to do until his passing as well as performing as the front man in the band Free Ride for thirty years until his retirement in 2010.
Nothing brightened Dave’s life more than spending quality time with his family, whether it be hosting annual Canada Day celebrations, putting in countless hours building the rink for the back yard hockey games and most of all, seeing the smiles on his grandkids faces when they came for visits to grandma and grandpa’s.
In his younger years Dave developed a strong passion for hockey, football, baseball and soccer; which later led to his dedication not only as an excellent player but an adored coach and a true fan.
In his later years he enjoyed spending his time admiring his “Caddys”, making endless trips to the antique store for his collectible bottles and license plates, and constantly rearranging his rock and roll garage. You would seldom see him without his big red slurpee cup in his hand, Bruin toque on his head, and “Diet the Heat” by his side.
We will forever miss your guidance, detailed stories, unforgettable expressions and your stubbornness. You will be in our hearts always and forever.
Rest in Peace.
Cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held in honour of Dave’s life, with flowers graciously declined.
