AUSTIN CLARKE
March 26, 1949 – June 4, 2014
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Austin Clarke after a brief illness with cancer at the Health Sciences Centre with his family by his side.
He is survived by his wife Linda; 5 sons and their wives; 1 daughter and her husband; grandchildren; 5 sisters; 3 brothers; nieces and nephews; and cousins.
Born in Jamaica to Uriah and Olive Clarke. He owned and operated his bus until he migrated to Canada in 1983 where he worked as a cook at Deer Lodge Centre until he retired.
He had a passion for cooking and enjoyed music and family gatherings and trips back home to Jamaica.
Viewing will be held from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Thursday, June 19, 2014 at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street. Funeral service will be held Friday, June 20, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. also at Cropo Funeral Chapel with interment at Brookside Cemetery. Immediately after burial a Celebration of Austin’s Life will be held at the Jamaican Association of Manitoba, 1098 Winnipeg Avenue.
