Obituary of MARGARET MARUSHAK
MARGARET MARUSHAK
It is with great sorrow that we announce the sudden and unexpected passing of our wife and dear mother Margaret Rose Marushak (nee Harkness) on June 6, 2014. Her sister Josie Harkness of New York City passed away in January of this year. Her brother Michael died at an early age. She also lost her mother and father a few years ago. Margaret attended Machray School and St. Johns High School, where she met her future husband William Marushak. They were married for 62 years. She had one son, Gary, and one brother-in-law Morris. The family was small but close.
Margaret worked at Trans Canada Airlines for many years and closed out her working years at the T. Eaton Company. Retirement allowed her to enjoy travel with her family. She had a special sense of fashionable dress and grooming. She also loved her pet cat and cared for it dearly. Even during her stay in the hospital she showed her resolute spirit to regain her health. William was at her side to the end and this gave her encouragement and certainly proved the strength of their marriage.
The family thanks the staff of Victoria and St. Boniface Hospitals for their care.
The funeral service will be held on Monday, June 16, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel located at 1442 Main Street. Interment follows at All Saints Cemetery.
