Brilliant, curious, passionate and warm, Ron was a remarkable guy. We met in law school, where it was his black-leather-jacketed cool factor that first caught the attention of the women. But it was his kindness, intellect and thoughtfulness that was really striking. In a world of smart and interesting people, Ron was extremely smart and extremely interesting. Plus, he knew about a lot of different things. A scientist, a philosopher, a man of real, deep spirituality, Ron was also a loyal friend. He praised the work of others and always strove for excellence himself. He explored religions and cultures. He bought art while others bought beer. And he was a really cool dresser. Time and distance intervened and we were last in touch by email in early 2009, when he told me how much he loved being a dad to his daughters, and how happy he was that Pat was expecting another girl. It is a terrible loss. He will be truly missed. My deepest condolences to Pat and Rhael and Naomi and Zoe.

Ronnie you have accomplished so much in your life and it is so sad that you are gone. I have such fond memories of us spending all the holidays together either at our house, your house or at Nana and Joe's. We were so close then and it is such a shame that we all have gone our own ways and have lost touch over the years. I have often thought of you and how you are doing. My heart goes out to your family and my thoughts and prayers are with you.

I was greatly saddened to hear of Ron's passing. I remember him fondly growing up and greatly influenced whom I am today. He took a personal interest in me in my formative years which I thoroughly enjoyed. Whether it was helping me with my school projects, taking me to the gym or lab, his influence in my life is something I will never forget. My deepest condolences to Florence and James. I will miss you.

My sincerest sympathy to all of the family - it is such a tradgedy when someone so young is taken from us. Seems like just the other day we were in school, riding bikes and carefree. There are no words at a time like this that can ease your sorrow, but may it help to know that there are others that share your pain and your love of Ron.

Deepest sympathy to Ron's family. A terrible loss. We worked together on a research paper and I was flattered that he invited me to join him and a very eminent team that he had assembled. I found him to be a top scholar doing really important public-policy related work that nobody really does, as well as being a thoroughly decent man with leadership, initiative and integrity.

Ron was a thoughtful, considerate person. I worked with him on some law and economics articles, and was amazed at his prodigious capacity for work, his insights, and the range of his abilities. I also recall Ron's desire to match his work situation with the needs of his family, and the latter always came first.
We have lost a first-class scholar, a fine public servant, and a kind man.
