Mom was born in Bodga, Romania on February 8, 1923. She immigrated to Canada with her husband and two sons in 1951. They lived in Winnipeg on Edmonton Street in one room on the third floor of a house. Mom worked very hard making sacrifices to support her sons taking on two full time jobs. One was at the General Hospital and the other at Eaton’s for a full seven years. She had numerous other jobs, the last being at Old Dutch Foods. Upon her retirement mom enjoyed time with her family. She always felt she did not have enough time with the out of town grandchildren and their families. Her overseas relatives were never far from her thoughts. She was a very devoted church member of her parish.
