Obituary of FLORENCE YAWORSKI

FLORENCE YAWORSKI (Sleeva) On June 24, 2014 Florence passed away peacefully at the Health Sciences Centre at the age of 88. She is loved, missed and survived by her three daughters Beverley (Doug), Judy, Lucinda (George), brother Steve, sister Elizabeth, brother in-law Ray and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Anton, parents Joseph and Nellie, sister Gladys and brother Edward. Florence was a forthright and fun-loving person who adored her daughters. She loved playing her guitar, singing and dancing to country music. She enjoyed entertaining family and friends in her backyard and home. Florence also loved gardening – later harvesting her crops to make a tasty beet borscht and filling her freezer with many vegetables. Thanks to the staff and volunteers at Holy Family Home for their loving care. Special thanks to the Steve Sleeva family and to Florence’s long-time friend Pearl for their ongoing support and compassion. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 2 at 10:00 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street. Lunch will be provided following the service. Interment will take place at Holy Ghost Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that donations be made in her memory to Holy Family Home, 165 Aberdeen Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R2W 1T9 or to a charity of your choice.
