Obituary of SISTER BARBARA SISKA
S. Barbara Siska
Le samedi, 5 juillet 2014 S. Barbara Catherine Siska fit son entrée à la maison du Père à l’âge de 96 ans. Elle était membre de la Congrégation des Missionnaires Oblates de Saint-Boniface depuis 75 ans.
Barbara naquit près de Punnichy, SK, le 16 décembre 1917. Son père, George Siska et sa mère Mary Horvath sont nés en Hongrie.
L’ont précédé dans la mort, ses parents, quatre frères et deux sœurs décédés à la naissance, ses frères et belles-sœurs John et Mamie, George et Doreen, Joseph et Blanche, Béatrice Frazer (première épouse de Elias), ses sœurs et beaux-frères Anne Désilets, Mary et Léo Grandmont, Elizabeth et Gerald Parker, Norman Brooks.
Elle laisse dans le deuil les membres de sa Congrégation religieuse, sa sœur, Victoria Brooks, ses frères Elias (Irma), Ralph (Joan), Gabriel (Veronica), son beau-frère Lionel Désilets ainsi que de nombreux neveux et nièces.
Les prières seront le vendredi, 11 juillet 2014 à 10 h en la chapelle à la Villa Aulneau, 601 rue Aulneau, Winnipeg, MB. Les funérailles seront célébrées à 13 h 30 au même endroit. Le Père Albert Bouffard, omi., présidera la célébration.
L’inhumation aura lieu après les funérailles au Cimetière St-Boniface, rue Archibald. La direction des funérailles est confiée au salon Mortuaire Cropo.

Sister Barbara Siska passed away at Taché Centre in St. Boniface on Saturday, July 5, 2014 at the age of 96. She was a member of the religious Congregation of the Missionary Oblate Sisters of St. Boniface for 75 years.
Her father George Siska and her mother Mary Horvath were born in Hungary. Her father arrived in Canada at the age of 14 and her mother arrived at the age of 12. Sr Barbara was born on December 16, 1917 near Punnichy, SK on the farm.
She was predeceased by her parents, four brothers and two sisters who died at birth, her brothers and sisters-in-law John and Mamie, George & Doreen, Joseph and Blanche, Beatrice (first wife of Elias), her sisters and brothers-in-law, Anne Desilets, Mary and Léo Grandmont, Elizabeth and Gerald Parker, Norman Brooks.
She leaves to mourn her passing the members of her religious congregation, her sister Victoria Brooks, her brothers Elias (Irma), Ralph (Joan), Gabriel (Veronica), her brother-in-law Lionel Désilets and many nieces and nephews.
Prayers are on Friday, July 11, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. in the chapel at Villa Aulneau, 601 Aulneau, Winnipeg, MB. Funeral service will follow at 1:30 p.m. at the same address. Father Albert Bouffard, o.m.i. will preside the celebration.
Following the funeral service, interment is at St. Boniface Cemetery on Archibald Street.
The Missionary Oblate Sisters of St. Boniface express their sincere appreciation to the staff at Taché Centre for their care and compassion.
