Obituary of SOPHIE GLOBA
SOPHIE GLOBA
Peacefully on July 5, 2014 at St Joseph’s Residence, Sophie passed away at the age of 91. Sophie was predeceased by her husband, John. She will be greatly missed by her three children; Adele (Andy Dzioba), Joe (Brenda) and Ed (Rita); grandchildren Jeff (Karen), Trevor (Daphne), Ashley (Jeremy), Katlin (Dave) Meghan (Eric), Andrea and Adam. She also leaves great grandchildren Janelle, Chelsea, Matthew and Kyle.
Mom was born in Poland in 1922 and immigrated to Canada with our father, John in 1948. After a brief time in Port Arthur, Ontario she and dad moved to Winnipeg to start their family. Mom was a kind and loving person who made friends wherever she went. She was a nurturing, dedicated mother and Babcia, who took pride in her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a lifetime member of St. John Cantius’ Church and the St. John Cantius Fraternal Aid Society.
The family thanks the staff at St. Joseph’s Residence for the care they provided to our mother during the last few months of her life.
