Obituary of AGOSTINHO CABRAL
AGOSTINHO CABRAL
Peacefully at home, Agostinho passed away on August 7, 2014 at the age of 81 years.
Agostinho is survived by his loving wife Maria Deolinda Cabral; sister Maria Isabel da Costa; brother in Toronto, Jose Cabral; children Jose (Tereza), John (Maria), Maria, Mario; grandchildren Nancy, Brian, Michael (Christy), Steven, Brittany, Scott, Matthew, Amanda, Katelyn, Colin; great grandchildren Sophie, Garcia and William; sisters-in-law Lucia Cabral and Fernanda Cabral; brothers-in-law Manuel Borges, Manuel da Silva (Rosa), Jose Arruda (Deolinda); and extended family.
He was predeceased by his parents Maria do Carmo and Agostinho Cabral; brothers Fernando Cabral and Manuel Cabral; sister Maria Borges; sister-in-law Valdomira Cabral; brother-in-law Manuel da Costa; mother and father-in-law Maria and Manuel Garcia.
Agostinho was born in the Arrifes, Sao Miguel and came to Canada in 1968. He worked in construction until he was injured at work in 1978. He loved gardening and spending time with his grandchildren. Agostinho was a very sociable person and was a master of his scooter. Dad will be deeply missed.
The family would like to thank the home care team with special thanks to Rachelle for the extra care and compassion.
Prayers will be held on Tuesday, August 12 at 8:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, August 13 at 10:00 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, 181 Austin St. N., with Rev. Fr. Andre Lico as Celebrant. Entombment will follow at Queen of Heaven Mausoleum, Assumption Cemetery, 3990 Portage Avenue West.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba.
