WALTER JOSEPH SZYMUSZKIEWICZ
January 30, 1925 - August 22, 2014
Peacefully with family in attendance Water Joseph Szymuszkiewicz passed away at the Victoria Hospital after a short illness.
Predeceased by his wife Mary; his parents Stanley and Victoria; his five siblings, Ted, Vera, Dolly, Sophie and Joseph; brother-in-law Casey Chopp.
He leaves to mourn his passing his four children Margaret Langlois (George), Brian Muszkie (Lucy), Susan Pidlubny (Randy) and Audra Hooge (Lindsay); his eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren; his brother–in-law Gordon Purchase; sister-in-law Bernice Mullins; sister-in-law Eleanor Chopp and many nieces and nephews.
Walter spent most of his life in Winnipeg and specifically St. Vital. Walter was a jeweller engraver by trade and is known throughout the jewellery trade in Winnipeg and across Canada for his unparalleled craftsmanship as an engraver. In earlier years he enjoyed music, painting, hunting, fishing and gardening.
The family wishes to thank the staff of Meadowood Manor and the Victoria Hospital for their care and treatment provided to Walter in his final days.
In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place, and a private family interment will take place at a later date.
