Obituary of RICHARD SWITALA
Richard Jack Switala
April 13, 1985 – May 19, 2012
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our dearly beloved son last Saturday, May 19, 2012, suddenly, peacefully in his sleep, at age 27 at home.
He leaves to mourn his mother, Margaret; his father, Jacek; his brother, Gregory; his grandparents, Elizabeth and Stanislaw Smolenski, and grandmother, Zofia Switala.
Also his Godparents who are aunt and uncle, Anna and Tadeusz Biernacki; his uncles, Jozef and Les Smolenski; cousins Beata and Andrew Biernacki; aunt, Monica Lukomski and other relatives and friends.
Richard was born in Winnipeg and attended Glenlawn Collegiate. He was later employed at Shaw Dental Laboratories and enjoyed working hard as a denture technician for almost five years and was well liked by his boss and co-workers. Richard had a great sense of humour and would play jokes and pranks with those close to him, he was fun person to be with. He enjoyed camping, weight lifting, movies and travelling, having travelled to Poland, Mexico, Dominican Republic and Las Vegas. He was very close with his family and enjoyed downloading movies, listening to music or interacting with his friends on facebook. He also enjoyed dinning out with the family, movie theatres, and going to his aunts summer cottage.
Prayers will be said on Friday, May 25 at 7:00 p.m. at St. Andrew Bobola Church, 535 Marion Street. A funeral service will follow on Saturday, May 26 at 11:30 a.m. also at the church. Interment in Holy Ghost Cemetery.
Miss you. Love you. Rest in peace.
