Obituary of LEOKADIA SZYCH

LEOKADIA SZYCH July 23, 1923 – October 24, 2014 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother and great grandmother Leokadia Szych on Friday, October 24, 2014 at Seven Oaks Hospital. Leokadia will be sadly missed by her sons Henry (Betty) and John; daughter Krystyna (Rick Bell); granddaughter Patricia (Jason Paterson) and great granddaughter Sydney along with relatives in Poland. She was predeceased by her husband Witold in March 2010. Mom came to Canada in 1951 to raise her family in Winnipeg. She enjoyed her home, baking, cooking, blueberry and mushroom picking, her swing in the backyard and her yearly vegetable garden. But most of all she loved spending time with her family. Prayers will be said on Wednesday, October 29 at 7:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, October 30 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Ghost Roman Catholic Church, 341 Selkirk Avenue. Interment to follow in Holy Ghost Cemetery, 4387 Main Street. “Wieczny odpoczynek racz jej dac Panie.”
