Obituary of THOMAS QUENTIN ANTONICK
After a courageous battle with cancer Tom passed away at the age of 72.
Leaving to cherish his memory is his wife of 51 years Yolande Anne (Gervais), his children Donna (Dean) Jenkyns, Michelle (Brian) Kotak and Tom (Debbie) Antonick, his grandchildren Stephen (Lauren), Natasha (Jeremy), Tanya, Tessa, Brianna, Nicholas, Samantha and Andrew; siblings June (Joe) Fecske, Beverly Cusson and Jim (Pat) Antonick and many nieces, nephews and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Joseph and Anne (Kawaza) Antonick.
After their marriage in June 1963, Tom and Anne moved to California where they started their family and Tom began his banking career. In 1972 they moved back to Winnipeg, with their three children, where he took up the position of Manager of Adanac Credit Union, until his retirement in 2003.
He was his grandchildren’s greatest fan, spending time watching them participate in their various activities. He enjoyed his time at the cottage on The Lake of the Woods, especially around a bon fire and fishing.
He was an active member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church serving on the Parish Council for a number of years, being especially proud of the work they did in the renovation of the church in 1989. He was a 4th Degree Knight of Columbus and a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Charleswood Branch.
The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff of CancerCare MB for all of their support.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated on November 17, 2014 at 11:00 am, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish, 4588 Roblin Blvd, viewing at 10:30 am. Mass celebrated by Msgr. Maurice Comeault. A private family interment will follow at a later date.
In lieu of flowers donations in Tom’s memory can be made to CancerCare Manitoba cancercare.mb.ca
