Obituary of JOSEPH (JOE) MACHUT
JOSEPH (JOE) MACHUT
Peacefully, it is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Joe Machut with his loving family by his side holding his hand, at the St. Boniface Hospital on May 24, 2012. He was 66 years old.
Joe was born on August 29, 1945 and was raised in Lorette, Manitoba. At the age of 14 he moved to Winnipeg to live with his sister Adeline and her family. At the age of 18 he met the love of his life, Evelyn.
Joe’s memory will be remembered by his lovely wife Evelyn of 47 years, daughters Charlene (Dan), Karen (Kolynn) and Valerie; grandchildren Ashley, David, Samantha, Joel, Sara and Liam; daughter in-law Tammy Machut; sister Olina Machut; many cousins, nieces and nephews-great nieces/nephews.
Joe spent many years with friends in the Cambridge and Pembina Hotel, Ft. Rouge and Rockwood Legion. He loved dancing, playing pool, shuffle board, and horseracing. His laugh and generosity will be remembered by all.
He was predeceased by his parents Harry and Mary Machut, son Jason Machut, sister Adeline Filipcic and nephew Brian Filipcic.
Joe founded and established his company, Handyman Industries Ltd. in 1970. Many men achieved their skills under Joe’s apprenticeship. After 42 years in business he still enjoyed being "The Handyman."
Joe loved the outdoors; fishing and hunting were his favourites. He also enjoyed curling, country music and Western movies.
The family would like to thank the staff on the fifth floor at St. Boniface Hospital for their compassionate care.
