Obituary of EUGENIA PAWLAK
EUGENIA PAWLAK
(NEE JANCZYK)
December 5, 1917 – January 21, 2015
Peacefully following a long life well lived, our mother, sister and Babcia passed away at the age of 97 years at the Holy Family Home surrounded by her loving family.
She is survived by her son Edward (Lucy); daughter Margaret (Robert); brother Edward; grandchildren Justin, Nick, Bryanne and Tessa.
Eugenia was born in Poland and faced many struggles in her life; World War II, death of her daughter, death of her husband at a very early time in her life. After her husband’s death in Poland, her brother, Edward sponsored Eugenia and her two children from Poland to Winnipeg in 1965. In Winnipeg, she worked for Eaton’s for 16 years. Eugenia was very talented. She enjoyed singing, reciting poetry, crocheting, knitting, gardening and cooking. We will miss her pickle soup, knedle and tortes.
Babcia’s love for her children, daughter-in-law, son-in-law and four grandchildren was limitless and her care, concern and support for everyone was without equal. She will be truly missed by her family and friends. However, together we are able to rejoice in a life well lived, as well as her kind and giving spirit and her faith in her saviour Jesus Christ.
The family would like to thank all the staff at the Holy Family Home for their kindness and tender care of our Babcia. Also, we would like to thank Mrs. Szkwarek, Mrs Niemczyk, Mrs. Bednarczyk and Mrs. Muranji for supporting our babcia during her time at the Holy Family Home.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, January 31 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Ghost Roman Catholic Church, 341 Selkirk Avenue. Interment to follow in Holy Ghost Cemetery, 4387 Main Street.
“God saw you getting tired and a cure was not to be
so he put his arms around you and whispered,"Come to Me"
With tearful eyes we watched you and saw you pass away
and although we love you dearly we could not make you stay.
A golden heart stopped beating, hard working hands at rest.
God broke our hearts to prove to us
He only takes the best.”
“Wieczny odpoczynek racz jej dac Panie.”
