Obituary of GLORIA MARIE CHEMERYNSKY
GLORIA MARIE CHEMERYNSKY
(nee Kuleba)
With heavy but loving hearts we announce the passing of Gloria Chemerynsky at the Tuxedo Villa on Friday, January 30, 2015.
Gloria was predeceased by her loving husband Bohdan; sister Jean; and brother-in-law Frank. She is survived by her five nieces and nephews and their families, Grant (Carole), Pam (Rob), Lori, Mark (Bonnie) and Sandra; as well as many cousins.
Gloria was born in Willen, MB on June 24, 1925. After attending Normal School in Regina, Gloria began a teaching career that spanned over 39 years and included Kindergarten – Grade 12 at schools in Saskatchewan, Nova Scotia, New York City, USA and Manitoba. During this time she received both a Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Education. Gloria’s final teaching position was at Garden City Collegiate High School where she taught French for almost 20 years. Although Gloria never had children of her own, she always took a keen interest in all those around her and loved to learn of their interests, careers and travels.
Gloria and Bohdan were married in July 1967 and were blessed with 38 years of marriage. These happy years included two homes overlooking the Red River, as well as many travels throughout Europe and the Caribbean.
The family would like to acknowledge their heartfelt appreciation and gratitude to Gloria’s wonderful lifelong friends and caregivers for their loving support. Their care and devotion made independent living a possibility for Gloria until the age of 87. Special thanks to Eldon and Joyce Hearn, John Neufeld, Kathe Klaussen, Rose Polka and Hilda Mendoza.
