Obituary of EDMUND JOHN WABICK
EDMUND JOHN WABICK
It is with great sadness we announce the passing, after a courageous battle with cancer, of our beloved Husband, Father and Grandfather.
Eddie was born April 30, 1939 in Rosedale Municipality, Manitoba. He had resided in Selkirk, Manitoba until his passing on February 24, 2015.
Greatly missed by his loving wife of 50 years, Jean and their children, Martin, Michelle (Miles), Stacey (Sherry) and grandchildren, Tyson, Kaitlin, Colton and Brendan. He also leaves to mourn extended family and many close friends.
Eddie was predeceased by his parents Rose and John Wabick, and siblings Burt and Leonard.
Eddie enjoyed a 35 year career with Manitoba Hydro as a machine operator and foreman until his retirement in 1994, which afforded him the time to pursue his joys in life; camping, fishing, traveling and spending time with his grandchildren.
The family wishes to extend their thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff at Selkirk General Hospital for looking after him so well until the end.
Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, February 28, 2015 at Notre Dame Catholic Church, 269 Jemima Street, Selkirk, MB. A private interment for immediate family will follow. A gathering to celebrate Eddie's life will take place at the church after services.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to CancerCare Manitoba.
