Obituary of MARIA (MARY) MUKOID
MARIA MUKOID
It is with sadness and sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved Mom, “Babi”-grandmother and great-grandmother, Maria Mukoid on March 30, 2015 at the age of 90.
Mom will be lovingly remembered by her daughters: Sophia de Witt (Vic) and Donna Maryk (Max), grandson Matthew de Witt (Catherine), granddaughters Melissa Mosher (Joe) of Halifax, Samantha and Michelle Maryk, great-grandson Isaiah Mosher, great-granddaughter Anastasia de Witt, and nieces: Frances Podlesiecki, Romona Dziarmaga, Elizabeth Kulczycki, nephew Kaz Mankiewicz, and their families. Her son, parents, husband Kasper, and sister Rozalia Mankiewicz preceded her.
Our Mom was born on September 3, 1924 in Tarnopol, Poland. Life provided many challenges for Mom. She survived World War II and repatriation. She immigrated to Winnipeg in 1960 and has lived here until her passing. Mom was very generous and independent. She loved to take care of her family, imparting Polish traditions, attending church, spending time with friends, travelling, and gardening.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at 10:00 am, Holy Ghost Church, 341 Selkirk Avenue, Winnipeg with Oblate Father officiating. Interment will follow in Holy Ghost Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to a charity of your choice.
