Obituary of ELIZABETH (BETTY) RAWE
ELIZABETH (BETTY) RAWE
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Betty Rawe at Grace Hospital on the 16th of June, 2015, at the age of 91.
Predeceased by her husband Robert Rawe, infant son Glen Jacobson, parents Frank and Vera Trollman, Betty is survived by her daughter Lynne Melanson (Jim), grandson Jarett, grandson Jeff and his children Caelan, Maddie and Claire Melanson of Toronto.
Betty was born in Glogonj in the former Yugoslavia and came to Canada at the age of five, living most of her life in Winnipeg’s north end and West Kildonan. She worked at Eaton’s Mail Order in her younger years and upon returning to the work force in later life, she was executive secretary at Seven Oaks Manufacturing and Sales.
In her retirement, Betty became an avid reader and also loved to crochet and bake. She particularly enjoyed sharing her handiwork and baking with family, friends and neighbours.
The family would like to extend a very heartfelt thank you to the wonderful caring, compassionate staff at Oakview Place where Betty resided for the past four and a half years.
A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, June 23rd at 1:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St., with interment at Brookside Cemetery to follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Salvation Army or the Winnipeg Humane Society.
