Obituary of HERCULANO FERNANDES

HERCULANO FERNANDES June 12, 1927-June 25, 2015 It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Herculano Fernandes, affectionately known to as "Avo" to his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is survived by his sons, Armando Fernandes (Estela) and Americo Fernandes (Lydia), grandchildren, Sandra (Fernando), Steven ( Amanda), Adam and Daniel, great grandchildren, Isis and Valencia. He was predeceased by his wife, Constança, mother, Isabel, father, Manuel and sister Angelina. Herculano was born, June 12th, 1927, in Castro Laboreiro, Portugal. He came to Canada in 1962 and was joined by his two children and wife in 1968. Except for the last 2 years, during the last 30 years, Herculano and Constança divided their time between Canada and Portugal. He enjoyed great food, playing cards and hunting with his family and many friends. Funeral service will be held on Friday, July 3rd at 1:00 at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. with a reception and interment at Assumption Cemetery to follow.
