Whenever we were invited to the lake, I wanted to remember to bring some cat food for Frank. On rare occasions, I was excited to catch glimpses of the feral cats that Frank fed so faithfully. During all seasons, I would look forward to placing the cat food tins on the front steps...when I saw Frank in the yard, I would hand him the tins of food instead, affording me a moment to say hello...
We would visit briefly, Frank telling me about recent activity with the area's wildlife, when to watch out for ticks, bears or even wolves...or we'd comment on human or animal nature. I/we will miss Frank, and I will think of him whenever we visit Lester Beach. He was a very nice man, fellow animal lover and advocate, and a great neighbor.
