BARRIE HARFIELD

Obituary of BARRIE FOLEY HARFIELD

Barrie Foley Harfield It is with extreme sadness that we announce the passing of Barrie Harfield on August 31 2015 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Barrie was born on April 14 1927 in the municipality of Brokenhead, Manitoba and raised on a farm in rural Manitoba. Barrie moved to Winnipeg to begin his career as a finishing carpenter and wood worker. He met his wife Janice and the two were married on June 13 1953. Barrie was passionate about his profession and continued working well into his seventies, spending as much time as possible in the “shop”, his favorite place on earth! Barrie is survived by his wife of 62 years Janice, sister Stella, son Leagh and daughter-in-law Stephanie of Calgary, Alberta along with their children and his grandchildren Benjamin and James, Bernard, and numerous nieces, nephews,sisters- and brothers-in-law. A very special thank you to Betty Bender at River Ridge Retirement Residency for adopting my parents as her own, Gayle Post of Beaverton, Michigan for making my dad laugh, and to Glenn Zirk and Sandra Scarr for their tireless time and effort in making my Dad’s final weeks and days so special-your kindness will never be forgotten. Services will be held on Tuesday, September 8, 2015 at 10:00 am at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street, Winnipeg Manitoba. Rest in Peace-we all miss you dearly
