Obituary of ELIZABETH MALYK
ELIZABETH MALYK (NEE MOSTOWAY)
Peacefully, on Thursday, October 15, 2015, Mom passed away at Seven Oaks Hospital with her family by her side.
She was predeceased by her husband Tony (Tommy) in 1991, her mother Annie (1950), her father Andrew (1974), sisters Susan Drebniski (1949), Nellie Horosko (1974) and Anne Yurkiw (2006).
Mom will be sadly missed by sons Anthony (Diane) and Andy (Millie), grandchildren, Stefan (Natalie), Taryne (Tom), Krista (Drew), and Katrina, great-grandchildren Annika and Logan, sisters Mary Evans in St. Paul, MN and Kay Babinchuk of Hyas, SK, nephew Larry Drebniski (Betty) and many other nieces and nephews.
Mom grew up on a farm in Calder, SK. She met Tommy in Winnipeg and they married in 1958 and raised their children. Through the years she worked as a cook for CNRailway and Sears retiring in 1992. Mom was the happiest and most fulfilled with her family at Sunday dinners and special occasions. She took great joy spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mom enjoyed working in her garden and watching the deer in Birds Hill Park. Her smile would light up a room when she walked in. It was the most beautiful thing anyone saw.
The family thanks the staff at Seven Oaks Hospital for their care and compassion.
