Obituary of CAROLINA DESOUSA SILVEIRA SOARES
Carolina deSousa Silveira Soares
June 27, 1914 - November 22, 2015
On November 22, 2015 Carolina Soares peacefully passed away at the age of 101 years.
Carolina was preceded by her loving husband Manuel Soares, her son Manuel, father Joao Silveira, mother Carolina de Sousa Silveira, sisters Connie, Maria, her brother Simeon and her daughter in-law Maria Soares, who was more like a daughter to her.
Carolina Soares is survived by her son Joao Soares and her four granddaughters Connie (Michel), Maria (Arthur), Carolina (Phillip) and Susie (Jason), grandson Michael and her great grandchildren Calum, Nora, Luke, Erik and Nichole.
Carolina was born in Relva Ponta Delgada, Acores, Portugal on June 27th, 1914. Carolina married the love of her life Manuel and they went on to have two sons Joao and Manuel
She took great pride in raising her children, working in the garden, sewing, cooking and tending to the farm animals. She was a dedicated Wife, Mother and Grandmother. In 1973 Carolina and her husband Manuel immigrated to Canada to be closer to their sons, daughters-in-law and grandchildren. Carolina enjoyed family gatherings, attending church and spending time with her friends and family; she was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great grandmother and will be greatly missed.
The family would like to thank the staff at Bethania Mennonite Personal Care Home for all the care and compassion they provide.
The funeral service will be held at Cropo Funeral Chapel at 1442 Main Street on December 1, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. with Father Andre Lico officiating with interment to follow at Assumption Cemetery located at 3990 Portage Ave West.
