Obituary of NELLIE ELIZABETH ZAYONCE
Nellie Elizabeth Zayonce (nee) Sopko
April 12, 1925 - October 30, 2011
It is with great sadness that Nellie's family shares the news of her passing. Nellie passed away quietly in her sleep at the age of 86 and is now in heaven resting peacefully.
Nellie was born and raised in Libau, Manitoba. She moved to Winnipeg after marrying her husband, John Zayonce, who passed in 1981. Nellie was the daughter of Agnes Witko and Michael Sopko. She was the youngest of nine children, all of whom have passed.
Nellie was a loving wife and mother. She always gave so much to her family. Nellie had a smile that touched your heart. Nellie was our family's flickering candle; she lit up our lives, now her candle's flame has gone out. We will miss her light, but we will always remember her glow!
Nellie leaves to mourn her sons John and Michael, daughter Carol, son-in-law Allen, daughters-in-law Edith and JoAnne, as well as six grandchildren and four great-grand children. Even though mom is not present anymore; we will feel her presence with us always.
Funeral Service will be held on Monday, November 7 at 10:00 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Interment to follow in Brookside Cemetery.
