Obituary of SUSAN ABRAMSON

SUSAN CAROL ABRAMSON (nee Peard) It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Susan Carol Abramson (nee Peard). Peacefully with her family and friends by her side Susan passed away after a long and courageous battle with cancer at the age of 61 on January 27, 2016. She is survived by her devoted husband David, her three children Dylan(Stacy), Ryan(Meagen), Stephanie, grandchildren Sadie and Arya Abramson, her sister in-laws Connie Peard, Christine Young, Janice Westman(Ken) and brother in-laws Ralph Abramson, Richard Abramson(Karen), numerous nieces and nephews, and the many friends that entered her life on her journey. She is pre deceased by her parents Jean and Thomas Peard, brother Ron Peard, sister in-law Karen Gallo, and Mother in-law Hatha Abramson. Susan was born in Toronto on December 13, 1954. She moved to Montreal in the 60’s after the passing of her father. In 1977 she moved to Saskatoon to pursue education. It was in Saskatoon that she met her soul mate David Abramson. Legend has it that when she first met David, she stalked him for two to three months. David and Susan were married on June 21, 1981. She spent the next 12 years in Saskatchewan raising her 3 children and creating lasting friendships with all who met her. When David was offered a job in Winnipeg the next chapter of their life began. Once they had settled into their house, she started taking night courses for her CMA while working full time. After eight years of hard work she graduated and received her CMA. Throughout Susan’s career she has made many lasting friendships that are still strong today. Susan and Dave received overwhelming support from all SECFS and CFIA staff throughout her journey. She still kept in contact with many of her former co-workers and would regularly meet for brunches and other get-togethers. The sheer amount of love and kindness that has been given to Susan and her family cannot be put into words. Whether it was the daily visits from friends of hers or various family members, she never felt alone in her fight. The family wishes to extend their utmost appreciation to all family and friends that showed their support. A special thank you needs to be given to her doctors Dr. Heibert and Karen, Dr. Maksymiuk and Meagen, Dr. Amed and Tamara, Dr. Daeninck and Melanie, and all of the nurses and health care aids at St. Boniface Hospitals 6th Floor 6E and 6A wings. As per her wishes she will be cremated. Her family will be having a celebration of her life at Cropo Funeral Chapel at 1442 Main Street on Wednesday, February 3, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers please send Hockey Cards to David  or make all donations to CancerCare Manitoba in her name.
