Obituary of GRANT JOHN DERENCHUK
GRANT JOHN DERENCHUK
1961 – 2016
It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of Grant on Sunday, January 31, with his family by his side, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Grant leaves to mourn his parents, George and Sylvia, brother Craig (Anamaria Hiebert), sister Carlyne (Alain Drouin) and nephews, Yanic, Sacha and Jeremy Drouin.
He graduated in 1984 from the University of Winnipeg with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, receiving the Board of Regents General Proficiency Scholarship. He had a lengthy career at the Canada Revenue Agency. Grant loved spending time at the family cottage in Matlock and fishing with his brother, brother-in-law, and nephews. He was a very giving and caring friend and family member. He will be sorely missed.
We wish to thank his family doctor, Benjamin Wiesenthal, for care and support above and beyond our expectations.
Flowers are accepted. Donations may be made to Evergreen Basic Needs, P.O. Box 89, 71 Fourth Avenue, Gimli, MB, R0C 1B0.
A Memorial Celebration will be held on Saturday, February 13 at 2:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street.
