Obituary of RUSSELL FRANK BODNAR
RUSSELL FRANK BODNAR
Russell Frank Bodnar went from us gently on the morning of February 27th, 2016, at the age of 67. Though his passing came unexpectedly, it was time for him to take the next step of his journey.
Russell is survived by his “shining star,” Dianne Bodnar (née Rauch); his children, Kristin and Jordan; his grandchildren, Pacey and Onyx; his brother, Doug (Phyllis, Andrea, and Jessica); and his sister-in-law, Sandra Mason (Lauren, Joelle, Fraser, and Graham).
Russell was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba on June 7th, 1948 to Frank Bodnar and Adeline Mylymuk. He lived and loved every moment of his 35-year teaching career, especially the final 11 years spent with “his boys” from MacDonald Youth Services. Russell enjoyed spending time with others, and sharing his love for cars, golf, hockey, and life in general. He was a gentle soul whose passing will leave a hole in the lives of many friends and loved ones who knew him along the way. Russell would encourage all of us to move forward, to be kind to one another, and to inspire one another.
A memorial is scheduled for 1:00p.m. on Friday, March 4th at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street. If friends so desire, donations to Cancer Care Manitoba in Russell’s name are appreciated.
