This is what my bbg who will be 12 in May about her granny who she loved greatly:
Time passes by so fast the next thing you know someone you love and care about so much dies . Its so sad to hear about it you feel like giving up but then you remember so many other people care for you after awhile . Then after time passes you heal from that wound inside you heart . and you get the strength to heal and move on because you know they will always love you and they would want you to be happy and not to cry all the time over them . And when the day comes you know that you will see them again through time and you`ll be so happy but in time in time so the best you can do is show them you will live a long happy wonderful life and laugh and smile so you can show them even though there not with you there will always be a little part of them inside you keeping you going . i love you granny rip and i will keep going for you because i know you will always be in my heart

My fondest memories of Chris were days at Ena and Chic's in Middlechurch when I was a young girl. Chris loved Elvis Presley movies and always made a huge bowl of popcorn to enjoy with it. However, it never failed that Chris always put way too many kernels in the pot and popcorn would fly all over the kitchen like confetti.
She had the kindest heart for animals and she'd tell us stories about Reb, who she said would eat absolutely anything, including onions and pickles.
When my parents were overseas living in Saudi Arabia in 1978; we all gathered at Ena and Chic's for Christmas dinner. We passed along a paper where everyone wrote a few words to mom and dad which I would forward to them. Chris wrote the latest sagas of moms favourite soap operas to bring her up to date. It was mom's favourite message in that letter. She and Chris shared a love for soaps.
She had a wonderful laugh and smile to go with it. Her memorial photo is how I will remember Chris; always up for good times.

I always admired you, Christine.
Growing up next door, we spent long summer days playing in the yard. We would set up marathon monopoly games on a card table outside; we would roll rusty barrels like log rollers down the hill; we walked on stilts and tobogganed down the hill at the creek. We would play "Cowboys" with our bikes as horses. I used my finger as a gun but didn't mind; I was just happy to play with you.
As a teen you were beautiful and outgoing and vivacious. You were one of the cool kids, but you were always incredibly kind hearted. You accepted everyone and always wore a smile.
Adult life was not easy for you, especially during the last few years, but you could always make me laugh. I am honoured to have had a cousin as generous and as giving as you.
Rest well Christine.

My fondest memories of Chris are from our childhood days. I remember the many afternoons Chris, Wendy, and I spent playing around the lych gate of St. Paul's Anglican Church in Middlechurch creating characters and story plots without end. We celebrated Victoria Day with family get togethers where we watched as adults lit fireworks into the night sky and we were allowed to write our names in the darkness with sparklers. We took turns riding up and down the sidewalk at our home on Waverley Street on the lone tricycle, one peddling, one clinging tightly on the back, and one waiting anxiously for her turn. There were carefree afternoons at the Selkirk pool which was our reward for shelling seemingly endless numbers of pails full of pea pods from Chic's garden. One time Jack took the three of us to see the movie Frankenstein at the drive-in theatre, likely on orders from Ena or Chic. We were scared silly and shook all night on the double bed we shared when visiting. Those days were filled with laughter, fun, and friendship among cousins. The sound of Chris's laugh will always stay with me, as will her compassion for lonely, lost, or injured animals. Chris holds a unique and honored spot in my heart.
