FRANCES ANGELA SEMENIUK (September 23, 1935 - March 18. 2016)
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passings of Steve Semeniuk and Frances Angela Semeniuk (nee Churush). Steve passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 13, 2016 with Frances passing five days later on Friday, March 18, 2016. Both were at the Seven Oaks Hospital.
Steve was born on the family farm on May 23, 1925. He lived in a farming household 7 miles south of Tuffnell, Sask. He was an Assistant Building Manager at The Society for Manitobans with Disabilities before retirement.
Steve was predeceased by his father (Kost) and mother (Katarina) brothers George and Nick and sisters Annie, Mary, Dora and Bella. He is survived by many nieces and nephews whom he thought of as his own children. Family was everything to Steve.
Frances was born on September 23, 1935 in Winnipeg. She grew up in Cook's Creek, MB and moved to Winnipeg at age seven. Frances graduated from St John's High School. The majority of her working life was spent at Sears.
Frances was predeceased by her father (Joseph) and mother (Carol) and is survived by her sister Adeline (Jerry) and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Steve and Frances were married in 1970 and spent 45 years happily married. They enjoyed spending their time with family and friends, going on casino bus tours and taking meticulous care of their yard.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Dr McCannell, Dr Sharma, Stacey Boehm, Patient Care Manager and all the staff on the fifth floor, Unit 5 at Seven Oaks Hospital for the excellent care of Steve and Frances in the "honeymoon" suite.
Casket bearers will be Bill Semeniuk, Steven Semeniuk, Jay Kasperski, Wayne Semeniuk, Darcy McLean and Rodney McLean. Honorary Casket Bearers will be Fred Stagg, Steve Schebel, Anthony Holowaty, Mervin Kitzel, Wally and Liz Turchyn and Harry and Dorrie Kitchen.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that a donation be made to CancerCare on behalf of Frances and Steve.
Funeral Services will be held at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street on Thursday, March 31, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be held at Holy Ghost Cemetery.
