HELENA LURDES ROQUE
1919 – 2016
With great sadness and sorrow on March 31, 2016, Helena Roque, peacefully passed away at Maples Personal Care Home with her children by her side.
Helena is survived by her children Isaltina (Manuel) Silva, Antonieta (Jose) Mauricio, Joao Francisco (Manuela) Roque of Winnipeg, Guilherme Roque of Mississauga, ON, Belarmino (Lucy) Cabral and Maria de Fatima (Jose Manuel) Moniz of Connecticut, USA; daughter-in-law, Elisa Roque; numerous grandchildren, extended family and many friends.
She was predeceased by her husband Joao Cabral Roque; son Alvaro Roque; daughter-in-law Zelia Roque.
Helena, 97 years of age, was born in Capelas, S. Miguel, Acores, Portugal. She was a housewife throughout her life. Helena and her husband immigrated to Canada July 18, 1976 to be reunited with children and grandchildren.

Prayers will be said on Wednesday, April 6 at 8:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, April 7 at 10:00 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, 181 Austin St. N. Interment to follow in Assumption Cemetery, 3990 Portage Avenue West.
