Obituary of DONALD KLINE
DONALD JAMES KLINE
January 3, 1933 - April 22, 2016
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Donald James Kline, son of Albert and Clarion.
He is lovingly missed by Jenny, his wife of 60 years, their children David (Deborah) and Kevin (Brenda), and grandchildren Ryan (Litta) and Lindsay (Stephan).
Pre-deceased by his sisters Therese (Coyston) and "wombmate" Donna (McDill), Don leaves to cherish his memory; his sister Shirley (Ed Harper), brother Albert, Jr. (Sandra), sister-in-law Shirley Leslie, brother-in-law Don McDill, numerous nephews and nieces, and with particularly fond remembrances his "special niece" Shannon Leslie and friend Kazuko Kakumasu.
Donnie grew up in Fort Rouge, attended St. Ignatius and St. Paul's Schools and was employed with the Manitoba Liquor Control Commission for 36 years, retiring in 1994. Remaining active in his retirement, Don continued to curl until 2014 (his 50th year with the MLCC Curling Club), golfed with the Garden City Senior Golfers, bowled weekly and was always available to walk someone's dog or provide a lift.
A service will be held on May 3, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street, Winnipeg, with interment to follow at Elmwood Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or Ronald McDonald House.
