Obituary of MARY SHOTT
MARY SHOTT (nee Tycholis)
August 12, 1922 – April 25, 2016
It is with great love and fond memories that we say goodbye to Mom, who passed away at the Arborg Hospital after a brief illness.
She will be forever missed by her children, Ron (Marilyn), Wayne (Vicky), Joyce and Shirley (Larry); ten grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents, Wasyl and Nastia; husband Michael; son Ernie; grandson Glenn; sons-in-law Dennis and Harry; daughter-in-law Mary; brothers, Mike, Tony and Joe; and sisters, Stefka and Olga. Mom is survived by her sisters, Justine, Ann and Steffie; and brothers, Walter and Billy.
Mom was born and spent her early years in Poplarfield. In 1940, she married the love of her life. Together, they settled in the Hamerlik district where they farmed and raised their family. Mom was a true farm girl and worked tirelessly alongside Dad. Always a gracious host, guests rarely left Baba’s house without a meal or coffee and baking. In her later years she retired to the Sunrise Lodge, followed by a move to an Assisted Living apartment in Arborg.
A prayer service will be held at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street on Thursday, April 28, 2016 at 6:30 p.m. A Celebration of Mom’s Life will be held at the Arborg Community Hall on Friday, April 29, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. with Father Chorney officiating. Mom will be laid to rest at the Hamerlik Cemetery.
A heartfelt thank you to Dr. Siddiqui, Home Care attendants, Assisted Living and Arborg Hospital staff.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Hamerlik Cemetery or to a charity of your choice.
There is a beautiful place where our loved ones await.
And they will greet us when our journey here is complete.
