Obituary of JOHANNA VAN WILLIGENBURG

JOHANNA VAN WILLIGENBURG …… heavenly transcendence began Tuesday, May 10, 2016 as she passed to join her Mother and Father, and sisters Alie (twin), Tinny and Annie. She is survived by 2 sisters Gijs and Jenny, her loving children Irene (Roger), Gerry (Denise) and Maria (Greg), 7 grandchildren Ryan, Cassandra, Kizzy, Kelly, Kole, Justin and Lyndsey and 9 great grandchildren Cadence, Preston, Kylie, Jayde, Keefe, London, Fraley, Elijah and Ariana) and her many nieces and nephews in Holland. She also cared for many foster children in her earlier life in Winnipeg, which gave her a sense of pride. Her life journey began May 12, 1936 and stretched over 3 countries (Holland, Nigeria and Canada), as she loved to travel. She enjoyed cooking, baking, watching old movies (musicals in particular). She loved listening to music (Opera and classical) but her passion was breeding dogs (Pomeranians) in which both brought her much comfort. A heartfelt Thank you to the Donwood Manor staff on the 1st floor for their care and comfort particularly in the last few arduous days. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society. Her celebration of life will be held on Thursday, May 19 at 1:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St., Winnipeg with a private family interment to follow.
