Obituary of KLAUDIA RZEDZIAN
KLAUDIA RZEDZIAN
(Koczytowa)
Klaudia Rzedzian (Koczytowa) our beloved aunt (Stryjenka), passed away peacefully May 18, 2016 in Winnipeg at 96 years old.
Klaudia was born in Pogibolwka, Russia in 1920. At the age of 4 her family moved to Tretnaj, Russia where she lived until she moved to Puszkin when she turned 18. During WWII, at the age of 22 she was taken to Bavaria, Germany to work on the farms. This is where she would meet her husband, Jozef and spend the next 3 years. They married in Germany on June 18, 1945.
On July 11, 1949 Klaudia and Jozef immigrated to Canada, where they spent a year working on a farm in Alberta. In September of 1950, they moved to Winnipeg and set their roots. Klaudia worked for 20 years at Dominion Tanners. She was an active member of the St John Cantius Church, and contributed greatly in the Polish community. Klaudia lost her beloved husband On January 2, 1992. After over 50 years, in 1994, Klaudia was reunited with her brother Vladimir and then in 1996 with her brother Aleksander, when they came for a visit from Russia.
Klaudia enjoyed spending time with her Family, she was a great baker and loved shopping. She spoke 4 languages and told amazing stories. For over 40 years Klaudia enjoyed playing Bingo at the Polish Gymnastics Association, where everyone called her Stryjenka, you could say she was a regular.
Klaudia was an amazing woman; she had a heart of gold and touched many lives. She was loved by all. Even though Klaudia had no children to us she was a mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Klaudia will be greatly missed by her niece Halina (Jaroslaw); nephew Richard; great niece Maryla (Alek) their children Paulina, Natalia and Viktoria; great niece Emilia (Mark) their children Kristian and Izabella; great nephew Marcin (Jennifer); her family in Russia and Poland. Stryjenka, our Sunday dinners will never be the same without you. We will miss your stories and great smile. May you rest in peace and watch over us.
