Obituary of JOSEPHINE ELIZABETH YANICKI

JOSEPHINE ELIZABETH YANICKI (CHUDYK) March 19, 1921 – June 13, 2016 It is with deep sorrow that the family announces the peaceful passing of Josephine at her home on June 13, 2016. Josephine leaves to cherish her memory and will be lovingly remembered by her children, Louis (Bernice), Joe (Irene), Irene (Bill) Remarchuk, Frank, Shirley (Stan) King, Roger, Terry (Samantha). Also by, daughter-in-law Pat Despins; 14 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. She is also survived by brother Tony (Elsie) Chudyk, sisters-in-law Stella Grywinski and Verna Robinson, numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Adolph, her parents Teofil and Rosalia (Trachuk) Chudyk, her brothers John (Nellie), Ben (Vi) Chudyk and daughter-in-law Judy Yanicki. Josephine was born March 19, 1921 in Zbaraz, MB where she grew up on the family farm. She married Adolph Yanicki on October 6, 1941 and together they raised seven children. They lived in Broad Valley, Fraserwood, Fisher Branch and Winnipeg. Mom was a homemaker all her life. She enjoyed her vegetables and flower gardens, canning and especially baking bread. She lived in and cared for her own home right up to the time of her passing. The family would like to thank Dr. John Mayba, for the care given to Mom for many years. Thanks to Home Care Coordinator Vicki Crawford-Briden, for the care and compassion given to Mom and the family over the past few months and to all the Home Care Workers who cared for Mom. Funeral Service will be held on Monday, June 20 at 10:00 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street with viewing prior. Interment will follow at Holy Ghost Cemetery.
