Obituary of CONNIE ERNA FOLGER
CONNIE FOLGER
It is with deep sadness and fond memories that we announce the sudden passing of Connie Folger, on July 5th, 2016 at the age of 82.
Connie will be lovingly remembered by her daughter Gaby Mader and her husband Rudy Folger and his two daughters Annalise (Ed) Sipinski and Sonia (Ray) Hiebert as well as Rudy’s grandchildren Richard and Melissa Sipinski. Connie is survived by her sister Rosey Sotter, her brother Wolfgang (Inga) Lind and sister Monie (Wolfgang) Schulz all of Berlin, Germany. She was predeceased by Gaby’s father Wolfgang Mader, her sisters Regina and Thea, brothers in law Court Wieser and Horst Sotter and her parents Johannes and Johanna.
Connie was born on October 14, 1933 near Frankfurt, Germany. Connie lived in Germany until her and Gaby immigrated to Canada in August of 1959 to reunite with Gaby’s father. Connie worked as a seamstress and enjoyed life. She enjoyed skiing, camping, water skiing, and travelling, just to name a few. Her love of animals was great and she always welcomed strays into her home, whether it be bunnies, pigeons or Robbie the Robin. To this day, Pepe the sparrow still lives in the apartment and Connie will be missed dearly by her little princess Maggie. Connie and Gaby were a team and were the best of friends. There were many ups and downs in their lives, but they never left each other’s side and tackled anything life handed to them.
Connie will also be remembered by her dear friends Brunhilde and Lorenz Gabriel, Mary Dilay of Vancouver, Anna Nemecek, Elizabeth Kolar and her daughter Cathy, Jane Black and Ursula Buroks, along with many others. Connie always enjoyed the dinner parties with her friends. Rudy and Connie had just moved into River Ridge 2 and were enjoying every minute. Thank you to Cindy, Lisa, John, James, Lori, Mark and Jennifer for their ongoing support and making it a home for Connie.
A celebration of Connie’s life will be held at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street on Saturday, July 9th at 1 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to any no kill animal shelter.
