Obituary of EVA BLONSKI
EVA ANNA BLONSKI
Eva Anna Blonski (nee Dubicka) passed out of this life and into the better life to come with the good Lord in heaven on July 22, 2016.
Eva (Mom and Babcia) will be missed very much by her family: daughter Barb MacNeil and her husband Neil; son Richard; and daughter Ann, her husband Mark Rogers and their son Alex. Mrs. Slejko, her neighbour and friend will miss her greatly as well.
Mom was predeceased by her beloved son Rony and her former husband Ronald. She is survived by her sister Sylwia in Poland and brother Olgierd in Sweden, and by her nieces and nephews here in Canada and in Europe.
Mom was born on October 10, 1936 in Vilnius, then a part of Poland prior to the war, to parents, Dr. Pelagia Kasz-Dubicka and Mieczyslaw Dubicki. Having survived the war (and its trauma), she grew up and married her husband, and they moved to Canada in 1959. She had her four children over the next seven years, and like many immigrants, got through the struggles of a new language and new surroundings and culture to give those children all of the love, support and guidance that children always need. Life was never "easy" she largely raised her kids alone; money was tight; Rony was a child with significant special needs but she persevered and succeeded. Her family was also gifted with her pride in their Polish heritage. She struggled with various health issues as an older adult. Through it all, she remained a deeply "good" and devout woman, with a special devotion to the Virgin Mary. We, her family, love her, and we respect her for her life of ordinary courage.
Prayers and funeral mass took place on July 28, 2016 at Holy Ghost Church, followed by interment at Holy Ghost Cemetery.
Any donations "in lieu" may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba.
The family would like to thank everyone for your thoughts, prayers, and kind remembrances.
