Dear Norm, please accept my sincere condolences and apology for not being with you today in person.
I feel like I knew your mother well because of the love, joy, gentleness, and humour that she inspired in you. Because of the admiration and respect I have for you, I have some idea of how much influence Mom had, and will continue to have on your family.
