Although we only worked together for a short time in the diagnostic imaging world, I appreciated his kindness, humbleness and respectfulness. My sincere sympathies to his family and close friends... Although it’s been pretty much 40 years ago, I still remember the first time I met Doug. The family had just moved to Shilo, and one of the boys in my class was taking him around base to meet people. That fall, Doug was in my homeroom, and we were classmates until graduation in 1982. I don’t think anyone questioned that Doug was going to live a life of adventure, and it’s so nice to see how much he actually achieved. My condolences to the family.

Having only caught up with a old school friend a couple of weeks ago, we remembered people and antics at PEPS. Doug was mentioned and we shared smiles and laughs. It is clear that Doug accomplished most of what he dreamed of in high school. Living large my man! My condolences to all.

So sorry to hear of Doug's passing. This one makes my heart ache.
He was a great guy who I had the pleasure of jumping with years ago, golfing with and unfortunately accidently shooting in the head during a paint-ball match.
Condolences to his family, his friends and those who loved and treasured every moment of this life.
Cheers!

My Family and I would like to extend our deepest condolences for the loss of your son.
Doug was a close friend and a fishing colleague of mine and our buddies in Saskatchewan and on our trips to Jan Lake we became known as the Fishing CREW. He will be missed by all of us.
He was also a fellow team mate of mine on the Gators Hockey Team and a golfing friend as well. Our getaways in the winter months were always great as there was no snow to contend with and we had a blast golfing for a week each year we went. I will miss these excursions with him.

We were honoured to have Doug as a friend and are sick at his death. We can only just imagine what it must be like for his family, of which he always and often spoke of with affection. To his parents, they raised an amazing human being, who was kind and gracious and who enjoyed all aspects of life. We will miss him dearly and will always remember his smile.
