Obituary of LILLIAN JANE BOWMAN

LILLIAN JANE (JEAN) BOWMAN (nee Bauer) January 4, 1935 - September 24, 2016 Peacefully on September 24th at the Seven Oaks Hospital with her family by her side, Jean passed away at the age of 81. Born in Winnipeg, she lived all of her life in West Kildonan, except for three years in Port Arthur, Ontario in the mid 1950's. She worked as a teacher's aide for 2l years at Victory School in the Seven Oaks School Division. Almost 50 wonderful summers were spent with her family at the cottage at Winnipeg Beach. Many happy hours were spent on the golf course with friends and family and she also enjoyed traveling to England and Scotland. Winter holidays were spent in Florida, Hawaii, Arizona, Palm Springs, Mexico and Vancouver. Jean is survived by Burt, her loving husband of 62 years, her sons Lee Bowman (Karen), Geoff Bowman, daughters Donna Emeno (Chris), Nancy Broza (Greg), grandchildren Jeremy Bowman, Ryan Bowman, David Bowman, Christopher Emeno, Michael Emeno, Danica Broza, Melissa Broza, brother-in-law Terry Armstrong and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Jean was predeceased by her parents William and Jean Bauer (Strachan), sister Pat Armstrong and brother Bill Bauer (Helen). The family would like to thank the staff at the Seven Oaks Hospital from Unit 1 of the 5th floor for their professional and compassionate care. ln accordance with her wishes there will be no service. A private family interment will take place at a later date. ln lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Palliative Programs at the Seven Oaks Hospital, CancerCare Manitoba, The Lord Selkirk RFM Pipe Band at 11 Easy Street, Winnipeg, MB R2N 3B4 or the charity of your choice.
