Obituary of ROBERT WAYNE MALANCZUK
ROBERT WAYNE MALANCZUK
It is with heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Robert (Rob) Wayne Malanczuk on Friday, September 30, 2016 at the age of 60.
Rob was predeceased by his father, Ostap, and leaves to mourn his mother, Anna, sister, Joanne, brother-in-law Ken, and special niece and goddaughter, Keanna, whom he loved with all his heart and soul.
Rob was born on June 20, 1956 and resided in Winnipeg.
He graduated from the University of Manitoba with a Bachelor of Commerce Degree and worked with the Bank of Montreal until he could no longer do so.
Rob had an incredible mathematical ability and thus, his chosen profession was a perfect match for him. He could calculate figures in his mind so quickly that he was actually faster than a calculator.
Rob loved shopping, music, talking on the phone, watching television and he loved to try different types of foods. He also had a passion for dogs and collecting Japanese art. He was creative and had a keen eye for design and details.
Throughout Rob’s life, he was challenged with many illnesses, procedures, and surgeries. He was known by many as the ‘Duracell Bunny”. Although he had these struggles, he always tried to deal with them with courage and laughter despite being fearful of the unknown.
The family would like to thank all the staff at HSC-CCU, IICU and MICU for their compassionate care of Rob and our family during the end stage of Rob’s life. Thank you to all of his physicians, nurses, and home care workers who kept Rob at home until he could no longer be there. Thank you to all of his friends, neighbours, and acquaintances who took the time out of their day to assist him when he needed help.
A Funeral Service will be held at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street on Tuesday, October 4 at 1:00 p.m. with visitation one half hour prior to service. Fr. I. Dziadyk, OSBM will be officiating. A private family interment will be at a later date.
