Obituary of HIPOLIT MIKUCKI
HIPOLIT MIKUCKI
At the age of 94, Hipolit Mikucki passed away suddenly on October 31, 2016 at Amber Meadow Retirement Home.
He is survived by his second wife Albina, daughter Wanda (Richard), son Richard (Marianne and her children Haley, Stefan, and Jesse), grandchildren, Andrea, Mark (Christine), Steven (Kim), Ryan (Lindsay), Sean (Rebecca), great grandchildren, Landen, Adelaide and Luke, as well as his brother Stanley (Irena).
Hipolit was born in Wilno, Poland and moved to Winnipeg in 1948 with his wife Maria, and shortly after their arrival, their children Wanda and Richard were born. He was diligent in providing for his family by investing in real estate and working as a machine operator at Burlington Northern Railroad until his retirement. Showing great love towards his first wife, Maria, he cared for her significant medical needs for years in their home with an attentiveness and gentle touch prior to her passing in 2003. Never forgetting his Polish roots, Hipolit was a dedicated member of the Polish Combatants’ Association, Legion 246, and Holy Ghost Roman Catholic Church. Known for his beautiful white hair, distinguished suits, and being a true gentleman, Hipolit could be seen dancing a waltz or a polka at zabawy (Polish dances) well into his 80s.
We would like to thank the homecare staff at Amber Meadow for their dedication and compassion.
