Obituary of MARIA DE FATIMA DA LUZ
MARIA DE FATIMA DA LUZ
It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our mother, grandmother, sister Maria de Fatima Da Luz on January 7, 2017 at the young age of 66.
Maria was predeceased by her husband of 40 years Jose Vieira Goncalves Da Luz, father Arthur Tavares, brother Luis Tavares and Aunt Laura Silva.
She leaves to cherish her memory her sons, Simon (Anita), Marco (Sabrina), Moises (Enza), daughter Elizabeth (Chad), granddaughters Allysia, Grace, Madisyn, Makenna, grandsons Mateo & Ethan, mother Maria Gilda, sisters Connie (Manuel), Lourdes (Leonel), Eduarda (Augostinho) & several nieces and nephews.
Maria de Fatima was born on January 3, 1951 in Faja de Cima, Sao Miguel, Acores – Portugal. In 1972 Maria married her soul mate and in 1974 moved to Winnipeg, MB with her family. Her strength, her integrity & her devotion to her family gave her children a strong start in life. She is simply the anchor on which our lives have been based and her values have been passed down to us.
Our hearts are broken without you by our side, but we are confident you have been set free. You will be deeply missed & never forgotten mom.
Forever in our heart. This isn’t goodbye, it’s see you later.
Prayers will be said on Monday, January 16, 2017 at 7:30pm at Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, 181 Austin Street N. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at 10:30am also at the church. Interment to follow in Holy Family Cemetery.
