OLE KERELUK
June 13, 1928 – January 11, 2017
Peacefully, at the Victoria Hospital, Ole Kereluk passed away at 88 years of age.
Ole will be lovingly remembered by his wife Verna, daughters Shirley Nikitin (Ted), Sheron Miller (Arnold), Patricia Rose. Cherishing their Giga’s memory will be grandchildren Cindy Miller (Barry McKay), Richard Miller (Karen) and Jasmine Kereluk. Sharing in sadness are his precious great grandchildren, Elliot and Sawyer McKay, Logan and Lilly Miller and Maria Kereluk.
He leaves behind sisters Elsie Timoffee, Iris Lattimer (John) and brothers, Bill, and Orest (Rose), sister-in-law Marianne Kereluk as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his son Gary in 1985, brother Kornel in 2014, father in 1950 and mother in 1970.
Ole was born in Tuffnell Saskatchewan, June 13, 1928. He married his high school love Verna Kuprowski in October 1948. After several years of farming, he moved his family to Winnipeg in 1956. Respected in the transportation industry, Ole spent 20 years with Vitran (formerly Trans Western Express) lastly as regional manager retiring in 1991. After retirement, he took up woodworking and gardening.
For 13 years, Ole and Verna enjoyed the winter months in Harlingen Texas, and after deciding to stay in Winnipeg enjoyed traveling in Canada and the United States. Ole enjoyed time spent with the many friends he and Verna had but truly treasured time with his family.

A service of celebration will be held at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street on Monday, January 16th at 10:00 a.m. with Father Gene Maximiuk officiating. Interment to follow at Glen Eden Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Holy Trinity Ukrainian Orthodox Metropolitan Cathedral, 1175 Main St., R2W 3S4.
