Obituary of TEOFIL ZABAWSKI

TEOFIL ZABAWSKI March 2, 1917 – March 8, 2017 Peacefully on Wednesday, March 8, 2017 Teofil passed away at Holy Family Home at the age of 100 years plus 6 days. He will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed by his step daughter Margaret Dingwall. He is also survived by his sister Anna; nieces and nephews in the Ukraine; also his late wife’s nephew Tom Simpson and family in Edinburgh, Scotland. Teofil was predeceased by his beloved wife Christina in July 1980; his parents Katreen and Bazylie; brothers George and Michael; sisters Olga and Mary in the Ukraine. Teofil was born in the village of Kupiczwold, Poland (now Ukraine). He came to Winnipeg via Edinburgh Scotland, where he married and settled, after the Second World War. I would like to thank the staff of Holy Family Home for the care and compassion they provided to my step father. At Teofil’s request cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be held on Monday, March 13 at 2:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Teofil’s memory to Holy Family Home, 165 Aberdeen Avenue, Winnipeg MB R2W 1T9.
