Obituary of BETTY LILLES McNICOL
BETTY LILLES McNICOL
July 7, 1923 – March 20, 2017
Betty passed away peacefully at the Seven Oaks Hospital on March 20, 2017.
Betty was born in England and it was there she met the love of her life, Stewart William McNicol, with the Canadian Forces. Betty and Stewart spent many happy years raising their nine children in the town of Roblin, Manitoba.
Betty had a big heart and her home was open to all. She was a lifelong member of the United Church. Betty had a love for music and dancing and even at the age of 93 she could hold her own on the dance floor.
Betty was predeceased by her husband, Stewart (2002); her daughter Gail (2009); her son, Vincent (2017).
She leaves behind her sons, Gordon (Carole), Ken (Norma), Keith (Marharyta); daughters, Shirley, Brenda (Frank), Theresa (Charles), Joann (Mike); as well as 13 grandchildren and many great grandchildren.
My family would like to express their thanks to the River Ridge Retirement Community for the care in the last few months.
A celebration of Betty’s life will be held on Saturday, April 8, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street, Winnipeg. All are welcome.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the MS Society or Heart and Stroke Foundation.
Betty loved life to the fullest and will be sadly missed by her family and friends. Betty now walks with her husband and son and daughter in the great beyond.
