Obituary of JEAN SOPHIE WOWRYK
JEAN SOPHIE WOWRYK (nee Kuch)
It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear Mother, Baba, Sister and Aunt – Jean Wowryk. Jean passed away on May 24, 2017, with family by her side. She was born to Matt and Teenie Kuch on May 12, 1938, in Seech, Manitoba. Jean was predeceased by her parents, in-laws (Roy and Annie Wowryk), husband Harry, son Ricky, and grandson Christopher.
Jean was the foundation of her large family. She leaves to cherish her memory, daughters: Shirley (Mel, Melanie, Nick, Amber, Nikki, Michael), Sylvia (Suzy, Sean), Elaine (Amy), Rose (Keith), Darlene. sons: Barry (Bobbie, Christopher), Ray (Sharon, Robert, Kristi, Madeline, Jacob, Krista, Jay), Ricky (Katie, Richard, Kaleigh, Dyanna, Kelsey), Ed (Catharine, Brandon, Austin), Len (Tracey, Adam), and Woody (Julie, Layne, Kelly, Emma). Her sisters: Eleane (Leonard, Lenny, Jason, Jeffrey) and Anne (Edward, Marianne), and many more extended family.
Jean was extremely proud of her family and loved her dogs; they gave her so much happiness and many stories to tell. You could normally find her sitting on the porch with her dogs phoning friends and family. Jean loved to fish, and her delicious perogies will be remembered by everyone who was lucky enough to eat them. She cherished the many friendships she made throughout the years and will be greatly missed by those whose lives she touched.
A special thank you goes to the care team at Seven Oaks Hospital (5th Floor Unit 4) and Dr. Biayl during this difficult time.
Jean’s funeral service will be held at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street, Winnipeg at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, May 29, with viewing at 10:00 a.m. Pallbearers are: Richard Wowryk, Robert Wowryk, Adam Wowryk, Mel Leganchuk, Jeffrey Baranyk and Marianne Goldsborough.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CancerCare in memory of her son Ricky.
