Obituary of OLGA PRESZNYAK
OLGA PRESZNYAK
It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of Olga Presznyak with her son and sister by her side on June 12, 2017 at River East Personal Care Home in Winnipeg, MB at the age of 72.
Olga leaves behind to mourn, her husband Joseph, children Julianna, Olga(Shawn), Juanita, Johnny(RaeAllyn), grandchildren Marlana, Martina, Marcus, Marcea, Dwight, Codey, Logan, Lucas. Sister Georgina, brother John, nieces Paula, Bella, Katarina, nephews Christopher, Daniel and many family and friends in Canada and Croatia.
Olga was born in Ogulin, Croatia in 1945, and came to Canada with her family in 1959, where she studied nursing and hairstyling. Upon graduating nursing in 1965 as a registered nurse she received the best bedside nurse award.
Olga married Joseph in 1967. They dreamed of working together as a team in photography and opened Liberty Studios. They both worked very hard at their business that operated from 1970-2005.
Olga loved her family dearly caring and providing for all, always putting others needs before her own. She always strived for perfection and happiness. As a mother she enjoyed raising her children, traveling the world with them and seeing them all graduate from University.
Olga loved her homeland of Croatia. In 1995 Croatia became independent, Olga was overjoyed that she was able to live in Canada and Croatia. Olga truly adored her Croatian neighbour Nevenka. Olga enjoyed visiting family and attending numerous Roman Catholic churches practicing her faith. Olga was kind and a very generous person. Olga took pleasure in swimming in the Adriatic Sea, cooking, gardening, needlepoint art, music and singing. Most of all she loved devoting her time to Julianna and her grandchildren.
Thank you to all the staff and nurses at River East Personal Care Home for their genuine loving care of Olga, and a special thank you to nurses Blandina, Karen and Kathy.
